Paw Plunger

Promise

A neat way to get your pooch’s feet scrubbed up after a dirty old walk.

Performance

Whatever you do, don’t mistake this for a thermal mug. In looks, the Paw Plunger is similar. In terms of what goes in, you’ve never had coffee like it.

That’s because this is a nifty little gizmo to scrub and rinse your dog’s paws after an outing. The set up is easy: just pop the lid off to reveal a rubber-flapped hole. Fill up with warm water, and get your dog to stick their paws in. After a few in and out movements, the internal brushes softly wash the dirt from the whole paw, leaving your pet with just a damp foot that can easily dry off without staining your furniture or car upholstery.

To test this out we recruited the help of Sailor, one of WideWorld’s resident hounds. Usually, Sailor’s not one for taking orders, and can be pretty hard to convince at times. After initial doubt, she was more than happy to stick her feet in the Paw Plunger and keep it there, a great sign that the bristles inside give your pet a pleasant sensation. On extraction, her paws were indeed pretty clean, and after a cursory wipe she was suitable for most surfaces. Once you’re done, you can just stick the lid on and go: the dirty water inside won’t spill.

Verdict

An excellent tool to keep in the back of the car for mud-bound emergencies, this can save you a lot of time and tears in the long run. It’s also available in a size specifically for smaller pets too.
