User-friendly digital camera with special underwater filming and shooting modes

Performance

This doesn’t come over like it’s truly waterproof. At first glance, you’d be forgiven for avoiding water altogether, but that’s the beauty of this ultra-slim GE design. It’s meant to be non-expert  and non-intimidating, and it works.

What also works, luckily, is the camera itself. There’s a generous 2.7” LCD screen out back, with relatively intuitive button controls for navigation. 12 megapixels provides all the resolution you’re likely to need, while a 4x optical zoom  gives you close-ups without surrendering the camera’s slimline profile.

What we really loved about this camera was the underwater modes: one works for underwater photographs, while the other operates during underwater video shooting. What this means is your camera becomes optimised to deal with the problematic conditions created from shooting underwater: your photos will actually come out better than you imagined because the camera will compensate for optical effects that your brain can’t!

Verdict

An awesome and completely user-friendly way to get into underwater photography, this model is also a pretty sturdy stand-in for the more experienced water photographer to take in with them when shooting fast-paced action.
